What We Do
ARTA NT provides an weekend, afterschool and school holiday program to young adults with Disabilities, located in the Palmerston area. As part of our services the cost of food, recreation activities/skill building activities and transportation is provided at no additional cost to our hourly fee.
We provide Morning tea, Lunch and Afternoon tea during school holidays/weekends and Afternoon tea during our afterschool program. It is our belief that learning to make healthy choices consistently is an essential life skill for teenagers. We aim to provide healthy options from a variety of food groups within the food pyramid guidelines, with a focus on low to no added sugar options and treats in moderation to promote making healthy choices.
At ARTA NT, we aim to relieve the pressure on the Parents, Guardians and Caregivers of our Participants by providing pick up and drop off services to and from central locations in the Palmerston and Darwin area.
As part of our program, we strive to provide a safe environment for our Participants to make friends and build their life skills. In our skill building program we offer a range of recreational activities based on our participants individual interests.
ARTA NT is not registered with the NDIS, however this does not prevent our participants from utilising their NDIS funding to pay for our program, to support our participants utilising NDIS funding we provide progress reports every 4 months or on request at no additional expense.
Strong Foundations, We Grow Together
At ARTA NT we believe strongly that everyone is always learning, our primary goal is to provide a safe place for our Participants to grow their skills with the ultimate goal of becoming more independent.
Our Director, Ellen Crimmins, founded ARTA NT after experiencing a frustrating lack of support available for her loved ones. As a mother of a child with a disability, she understands the challenges the parents of our Participants face on a personal level and strives to make things as easy as possible.
In accordance with this, we want to support not only our Participants but their parents as well, we work to make our services as easy to use as possible to reduce frustration, going above and beyond to support them in whatever they may need.
Whether your goals are to make new friends or learn a brand new skill ARTA NT is here to support you!
